Turn off your air conditioner right away. If your coils are frozen over, air will not circulate over them. Without this air circulation, your compressor can become damaged beyond repair. Your drainage lines may be clogged or there may be a more complicated repair. Call us immediately to determine the cause of the icing.

My AC is leaking, what should I do?

If your air conditioner is leaking water into the house, turn off your air. Your drainage line may be clogged. If this water backs up, it can cause your coils to freeze. Frozen coils become worn over time and degrade. Call Signature Air Conditioning and Heating to determine and remedy the cause of your leaking air conditioner.

My AC is on, but it's not blowing air?

Many times, your air conditioner is not blowing air because the fan that blows air throughout the house is not functioning correctly. The source of a bad fan needs to be diagnosed to the component that is causing it not to spin. It could be a bad blade, a bad fan motor, a bad relay switch or other faulty wiring. Call Signature Air Conditioning, and we will diagnose repair or replace any damaged parts.

My AC won't turn on?
This is a complicated issue as the source could be one or more components. It could be something as simple as a thermostat battery. It could also be an electronic component within the AC unit that has passed its life expectancy or is damaged and need to be replaced.

My thermostat is not working?
Thermostats do go bad over time. The first and simplest thing to do, if you have a digital thermostat, is to replace the battery. If your thermostat still doesn't work after that, call Signature Air Conditioning and Heating, and we can replace your thermostat with a programmable digital thermostat. Thermostats can be for single or dual stage air conditioners, so it is important to install the correct one. We can take care of that for you.

AC capacitor replacement?
AC capacitors absolutely have a lifespan. We can replace a worn out ac capacitor. These capacitors control turning on your compressor and fans. We recommend calling a professional to replace the capacitor but, if you attempt to do it yourself, remember to turn off the ac, remove the breakers, and discharge the capacitor before doing anything.

An air conditioner that doesn't blow cold air can be caused by several reasons. We really need to look at the unit to diagnose the cause but, some common issues are frozen coils, bad capacitor, bad relay switch, and more serious, a bad compressor.
